South Portland bar supervisor arrested in drug sting

A month-long investigation by the Maine Drug Enforcement Company ended Monday with the arrest of a South Portland man on aggravated drug trafficking and firearm violations.

Michael McNamara, 52, was charged with three counts of aggravated trafficking methamphetamine, three counts of aggravated trafficking with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited particular person, and 4 counts possession of scheduled medicine.

MDEA reported that brokers from its Cumberland District Activity Power made undercover purchases of high-quality methamphetamine from McNamara at Spring Level Tavern in South Portland, throughout enterprise hours, whereas McNamara was working as a normal supervisor.
