Outdated City is altering the way it collects its trash

Outdated City residents can anticipate to obtain bigger trash bins and weekly recycling pickup as a part of an improved curbside program launching in October.

Pine Tree Waste, which is a part of Casella Waste Methods, gives 64-gallon recycling bins to residents now and providers them each different week, Casella spokesperson Jeff Weld stated. That may shift to 96-gallon bins and recycling on a weekly foundation to accommodate town’s recycling program, which has grown over the previous decade, he stated.

“They [residents] have frequently maintained the best recycling charge of all our curbside assortment communities in Penobscot County,” he stated, estimating the speed is about 25 %.
