Man charged after allegedly inflicting 3-vehicle crash on I-95

An Augusta man was charged Monday after he allegedly precipitated a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Pittsfield.
Larry DiPietro, 75, was driving a grey 2005 Hyundai north on I-95 about 11:45 a.m. when he slowed down to make use of a freeway crossover, in accordance with Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Division of Public Security.
That then precipitated a three-vehicle collision as different drivers tried to keep away from DiPietro, Moss mentioned.
Two individuals have been taken to the hospital for therapy of minor accidents. DiPietro wasn’t injured.
DiPietro was charged with driving to hazard.
