Maine’s most costly highschool is opening in Auburn

Auburn highschool college students, college and employees will kick off their new faculty yr this week in a model new state-of-the-art facility that replaces the old fashioned in-built 1961.

With a price ticket of $126 million, Principal Scott Annear mentioned it’s the largest and most costly highschool ever in-built Maine. Prices rose throughout building, which coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic and after contaminants have been found within the previous constructing that required abatement.

The brand new highschool features a 1,200-seat auditorium, athletic fields and enhanced security measures. Kristin Bishop with the Maine Board of Schooling mentioned the varsity is planning progressive profession and technical schooling programming.
