Lubec man pleads responsible to killing girlfriend whose physique was present in trunk of automobile

A Lubec man has pleaded responsible to killing his girlfriend.
Paul DeForest, 67, was accused of taking pictures and killing 58-year-old Eva Cox within the dwelling they shared on Jim’s Head Highway in Lubec in January 2022, in response to the Portland Press Herald.
Her physique was discovered contained in the trunk of a automobile close by.
DeForest was later arrested in Warrenton, Virginia, and extradited again to Maine.
A witness to the crime reportedly advised police that DeForest mentioned, “Why did she should push my buttons, she knew I beloved her,” in response to the Press Herald.
DeForest will likely be sentenced on Sept. 19.
