Carmel man killed in home hearth

Police say a 70-year-old resident was killed when his Haskell Avenue house was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters responded to a reported house on hearth at 3 p.m. Friday at 26 Haskell Avenue and battled the blaze for at the very least two hours.
