Bar Harbor’s city supervisor all of the sudden resigns

The city supervisor of Bar Harbor all of the sudden resigned on Wednesday.
In a letter to the Bar Harbor City Council, Kevin Sutherland introduced that he made the choice after discussions together with his household.
“I vastly admire working with the Council to deal with many necessary issues,” Sutherland wrote on Thursday. “It’s time for me to search out extra stability, particularly by having fun with time with my household.”
Sutherland’s resignation has been accepted by the council, and will likely be efficient instantly, in line with Council Chair Val Peacock.
Sutherland, a former Saco metropolis administrator, was employed in November 2021 for a three-year contract. Beforehand, he was the chief of employees for Ithaca, New York.
He was the lone finalist for the city supervisor place, and began his duties in January 2022.
Sutherland took over the place from Cornell Knight, who has been Bar Harbor’s city supervisor for seven years. He was solely the third city supervisor Bar Harbor has had since 1986, when the city employed Dana Reed for the place. Reed held the submit till 2014.
