15-year-old dies in Sanford crash
A 15-year-old and a 65-year-old died after a crash in Sanford on Wednesday night.
The crash close to 19 Outdated Falls Street was reported round 4:01 p.m., in accordance with Maj. Matthew Gagne of the Sanford Police Division.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they seen {that a} brown 2000 Chevrolet Equinox had gone off the highway after turning from Kennebunk Street. The Equinox struck Michael Gilbar, of Jericho, Vermont, and his 15-year-old grandson.
The 15-year-old died on the scene of the crash. Gilbar died earlier than LifeFlight was in a position to transport him to a neighborhood hospital.
The driving force of the Equinox was transported to Southern Maine Well being Care Medical Heart in Biddeford.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
